Is Buying a Kayak expensive?

kayaking across the lake

You should prepare a decent budget if you want to start kayaking. It’s not as cheap as other watersports such as surfing or bodyboarding for instance in terms of equipment costs. These costs have been largely driven down in recent years by mass manufacturer and many competing brands. Kayak’s however are in a similar bracket to SUPs as they are of a more bulkier size and therefore material costs are higher.

So how much can I expect to pay for a kayak?

Typically kayak’s cost anything from $1,500 for a single man kayak or more than $2,000 for a double man kayak. Of course, you can always buy second hand if you’re looking to save a bit of cash. If you’re doing this be sure to check for holes and damange on both the exterior and interior.

Different Kayaks, Different Purposes

Of course, there’s different kayaks for different purposes. There are: touring, fishing, whitewater rapids, sea, sit-on-top, recreational and tandem kayaks. If you’re a beginner and just want to use the kayak for fun you should be looking at something that offers good stability. An inflatable kayak might be most suitable for you, if you want something that’s affordable and easy to get on with. Inflatable kayaks have actually been developed over the years, and the latest ones do the job very well.

Trusted Brands

There are few good, reputable brands to look out for when you come to buying your kayak. Pelican and Cobra. Wilderness Systems, Valley Kayaks and Seda produce quality sea touring and racing kayaks in a variety of styles. Liquid Logic, Dagger and Perception build superior whitewater boats.

Branded car signage in Sydney

We’ve recently been looking for a company that offers branded vehicle signage for our business. We felt it was time that we gave our van a bit of a modern look and decided that a vehicle vinyl wrap was the way to go. You’ve probably seen these kinds of car wraps a gazillion times before, and not registered that they’re actually vehicle wraps. The technique is to apply a digital design that’s been printed out on a vinyl sheet with adhesive and which then gets applied to the vehicle through pressure usually from a squeegee.

This was the first time we’d ever considered getting any company branding done, so we were probably a little bit out of our depth at first. But then after a few Google searches, and watching a few YouTube videos we became a bit more familiar with the process. Certainly, some of the effects that could be achieved through car vinyl wraps were mind blowing.

After doing a bit of a research online, we soon came across a Sydney based company called Auto Artisan who offered very professional vehicle vinyl wraps and had worked with some great brands such as Formula One to do their livery. We made an enquiry via their website and a representative got back to us within 24 hours. We were very impressed with their catalogue of work and decided to get a quote from them.

In the meantime, we made some other enquiries to similar companies for the same required product, but we found that they either didn’t get back to us or their quotation was astronomical. For us it was a no-brainer to go with the aforementioned. Luke was very helpful and the team did a great job on making our van a mobile advertisement for our business. We shall definitely be using their car wrap service again.
